Assistant Director: Strategic Planning Services (PWRI)
Key Performance Areas
Coordinate planning processes: Facilitate and coordinate the compilation of Departmental Strategic Plan, Annual Performance Plan and Operational Plan. · Provide guidance to programme managers on the implementation of strategic plan. · Schedule follow up sessions with programme managers on the implementation of the strategic plan. Align the departmental business plan with the PGDS and municipal IDP’s: Provide effective IGR Services. · Facilitate the integration of departmental plans into municipal IDP’s. Coordinate inter sectorial sessions. Participate in provincial development Planning Forum. Participate in IDP review sessions. Facilitate general management of the department, Provincial Government and liase with national departments, local governments and other stakeholders: Facilitate IDP review sessions. Facilitate IR and Donor Funding Committee. Facilitate in provincial development Planning Forum. Facilitate MOU implementation plan Committee. Provide stakeholder liaison from outside government and at community level. Provide departmental policies: Facilitate the development of the departmental policies. Conduct research and or benchmark with other departments on departmental policies. Facilitate the approval of the departmental policies. Provide policy advocacy sessions.
Prerequisites
Grade 12 / Matric certificate and a qualification at NQF Level 6 in Developmental studies, Strategic Planning or Public Administration/ Management. 3-5 years relevant experience at supervisory level / Senior / Admin Officer in Strategic Management/ Planning, PGDS or Municipal IDP’, at least 3 years in supervisory position. A valid driver’s license with the exception of applicants with disabilities.
Person Profile
Knowledge of relevant Public Service Acts, regulations and frameworks. Knowledge of Strategic Management Framework. Government programs such as the National Development Plan. Knowledge and understanding of policy analysis, development and interpretation. Leadership skills. Computer Literacy. Facilitation. Planning and organising. Analytical thinking. Creative Problem Solving. Policy Analysis and formulation.
