Key Performance Areas
Provide psychological service delivery at hospital level. Conduct forensic mental health evaluations. Participate in hospital teams/committees. Support hospital activities related to mental health. Supervise work of the psychometrists in the hospital. Implement community outreach programs. Liaise and work with other hospital departments. Liaise with psychiatric services in the hospital. Assist in training for primary health care professionals. Experience in Child Psychiatry
Prerequisites
An appropriate qualification that allows registration with the HPCSA as Clinical Psychologist. Current registration with the Health Professions Council (HPCSA) as a Clinical Psychologist. EXPERIENCE: (R907 617.00 ) Grade 1: None after registration with the HPCSA as Clinical Psychologist. (R1 055 292.00) Grade 2: 8 years after registration with the HPCSA as a Clinical Psychologist. (R1 221 843.00) Grade 3: 16 years after registration with the HPCSA as a Clinical Psychologist. Inherent requirements of the job: Willingness and ability to work shifts / flexi hours [including night duty, weekends, and public holidays]. Willingness to work extra hours on short notice. Must be competent n conducting forensic mental evaluations and compile legal report to Department of Justice. Computer literacy including MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint; Virtual meeting platforms literacy. A valid drivers license except people with disabilities.
Person Profile
Appropriate clinical knowledge & experience in the field of clinical Psychology: psychotherapy, assessment, counselling. Analytical/report writing skills. Knowledge of current health and public service legislation, regulations, and policies. Sound knowledge of professional ethics. IT skills. Research, teaching, case presentation and training skills. Time management.
