Key Performance Areas
Providing an integrated psychological service: Provide trauma and supportive counselling to patients. Screen and refer patients to the clinical psychologist for therapeutic intervention. Provide psychoeducation to patients and their families. Liaise with other professionals in the multidisciplinary team regarding patient management and psychological issues. Community psychology involvement. Outreach to peripheral district clinics. Screening/ counselling at peripheral clinics and refer to other professionals for further management. Develop intervention programs based on needs profiles. Implementing programs for specific communities-based interventions on a proactive.
Prerequisites
Appropriate qualifications and registration with Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Registered Trauma Counsellor. Current registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Registered Trauma Counsellor. Experience: (R741 102.00) Grade 1: None after registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Registered Trauma Counsellor (R844 128.00) Grade 2: A minimum of 8 years’ appropriate experience as a Registered Trauma Counsellor, with supervisory and training skills (R953 094.00) Grade 3: A minimum of 16 years’ appropriate experience as a Registered Trauma Counsellor, with supervisory and training skills. Ability to work with integrated multi-disciplinary teams across platforms, leadership, administrative. Good problem-solving skills and report writing skills. Computer literacy including MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint; Virtual meeting platforms literacy. A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel
