Key Performance Areas
Internal Medicine: Pulmonology and Cardiology, Haematology, Gastroenrterology, Rheumatology, Infectious Diseases & Endocrinology etc. Surgery: Vascular Surgery and Trauma Surgery and etc. Obstetrics and Gynaecology: Endocrinology and Reproductive Medicine, Gynaecological Oncology and Urogynaecology and etc. Paediatrics and Child Health: Cardiology, Critical Care, Neuro-developmental Paediatrics, Gastroenterology, Haematology/Oncology, Neonatology and Nephrology. and etc. Diagnostic Radiology: Interventional Radiology Critical Care Etc.
Appointment will be on a fixed-term training contract in accordance with HPCSA prescribed duration for sub-speciality training and satisfactory academic progress.
Prerequisites
Be currently employed by Limpopo Department of Health. Be registered with the HPCSA as a Specialist in the relevant primary speciality. Have proof of acceptance or eligibility for registration into an accredited sub-speciality training programme. Be willing to sign a month-for-month work-back agreement with no option of financial payback.
Relevant clinical experience in the intended sub-speciality. Research experience and publications. Relevant postgraduate qualifications and courses.
Person Profile
Provision of specialised and sub-specialised clinical services. Participation in teaching, academic and research activities. Supervision and mentoring of registrars, interns and undergraduate students. Participation in audits, morbidity and mortality meetings and quality improvement programmes. Rendering commuted overtime and after-hours services where applicable.
Successful candidates must register with the relevant university and maintain registration throughout training. Six-monthly academic and clinical progress reports must be submitted through the Head of Department. Failure to comply with academic progression requirements may result in termination of appointment. Rotation within accredited training institutions may be required.
